Stay Safe: Suicide Awareness Month
A dozen lives lost. Last year twelve employees of the Illinois Department of Corrections died by suicide—a tragic reminder of the pressures and stress that corrections work entails.
One loss like this is too many, and when they happen with such regularity, we must address the underlying causes.
September is Suicide Awareness Month and AFSCME is carrying a message of concern to our brothers and sisters who may need help but not know how to say so.
