Aug. 24 – Labor Celebration Parade & Picnic - kids games, food and refreshments
Location:  Parade starts at Wood River IL Round House, parade will continue North on Wood River Ave and end at the Wilshire Village Parking Lot in East Alton, IL.
Picnic for Union Members and their family following parade at Gordon Moore Park, Alton, IL on Hwy. 140. (Wrist Bands are required to attend Picnic, see your local union)
Time:  Parade lineup begins at 8 a.m. & starts at 10 a.m. / Picnic starts after parade completion.

BELLEVILLE

Aug. 29– Southwestern Illinois CLC 56th annual Labor Awards Dinner 
Location: Banquet Center (downstairs), Bel-Air Bowl, 200 S. Belt West, Belleville, IL 62220
Time: Doors open 6 p.m. with Dinner at 7 p.m.
Cost: $30 per person ($240 table of eight) in advance or $35 at the door, Reservation deadline is August 19, 2024. Sponsor ad book $75 or $150.

Sept. 2– Labor Day Parade & Picnic
Location: Parade is in downtown Belleville, lineup starts in 4th block of South 1st St., and will end at Hough Park with the annual Picnic. Parade & Picnic open to union members and their families ONLY. Food, beverages available, and inflatable games for kids with arm bands that can be purchased at the park.
Time: Parade – vehicle lineup 8 a.m.; marcher’s lineup 9 a.m.; Promptly starts at 10 a.m. / Picnic ends by 3:00 p.m.

BLOOMINGTON - NORMAL

Sept. 2 – Labor Day Parade followed by a dinner in Miller Park for union members and their families.  
Theme: “Labor Voices – Labor Votes”
Location:  Downtown Bloomington – starting at Front and Center Streets 
Time:  Parade – 9 a.m. line up, 10 a.m. start / Lunch – 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  $6 box lunch

Aug. 24 – Labor Council Picnic 
Location:  Fox Ridge State Park, 8 miles south of Charleston on Rt. 130 
Time:  Lunch – Noon – 4 p.m. Music, BBQ dinner – all active or retired union members welcome.

CHAMPAIGN - URBANA 

Sept. 2 – Labor Day Parade & Picnic 
Location:  Downtown Champaign – starting at corner of Chestnut St. and Main St to Walnut St to Neil St. to Washington St. 
Time:  Parade staging begins at 10 a.m. and begins at 11 a.m.  A picnic will immediately follow downtown (Market St and Taylor St) in Champaign.

CHICAGO

Aug. 31 – Chicago Labor Day Parade & Eddie Fest
Location:  Parade lineup will be at 103rd St. & S Cottage Grove Ave , marching south to 114th Street.
Time:  Parade kicks off at 12 p.m.  Eddie Fest to immediately follow, until 4 p.m.
Information:  This year’s parade kicks off at noon along Cottage Grove Avenue on Chicago’s South Side in the Pullman neighborhood.  Eddie Fest, a free celebration featuring live music, kids’ entertainment, and other programming, will immediately follow and be held on the grounds of the Pullman National Historic Park.  Chicago Federation of Labor partners with the Historic Pullman Foundation, Friends of Labor, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Pullman House Project, National A. Phillip Randolph Pullman Porter Museum, and Illinois Labor History Society to make this year’s events safe and enjoyable for all.  The website has more information, as well as links to register your organization to participate and register as a volunteer.

DANVILLE

Sept. 2 – Labor Day Parade
Location:  Downtown Danville  Time:  8 a.m. lineup, 9:30 a.m. start.  
Parade route starts at Davis & Vermilion going south and ending at Main & Vermilion .

DECATUR

Sept. 2 – Labor Day Parade & Picnic
Location:  Downtown Decatur, line up on South Franklin Street at Wood Street
Time:  8:30 a.m. lineup, 10 a.m. start; Theme: “Every Vote Matters”

There will be a picnic at Fairview Park immediately following the parade until 2 PM.  
Comment:  This is the 11th annual combined picnic of all labor unions in Macon County, expecting about 3,000 participants.  Food, refreshments, ice cream, raffles & kid games.  Free to union sponsors, $25 for general public.

Sept. 2 – Labor Day Parade and Picnic – Music, food and refreshments
Location: Parade lineup begins at 9:00 a.m. in downtown Granite City on State Street between Niedringhaus & 18th Streets and will go to Wilson Park for picnic for Union Members and their family
Time: Parade starts at 10:00 a.m.

Time: Lineup at 9 a.m. at John Deere Harvester Works parking lot at 1100 13th Ave. in East Moline; parade starts at 11 a.m. and proceeds along 15th Avenue.

Aug. 23 through Sept 2 – DuQuoin Illinois State Fair 
Labor Pavilion will be open each day of the fair and is sponsored by The Egyptian Building Trades
Twilight Parade will be held at 6 p.m. on Aug. 23 for union members wishing to walk with the Union float(s). 


SPRINGFIELD 

Sept. 6 – Picnic for Working Families
The Springfield & Central Illinois Trades & Labor Council will be hosting a family picnic the week of Labor Day.  It will be held on Friday, September 6th at the Illinois AFL-CIO, 534 S. Second Street in Springfield, IL from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  The picnic is open to members of the central labor council and their invited guests.
