Eligibility
If you are a represented employee in one of the following contracts you, and your covered dependents, are eligible for PSP services (regardless of the employer-sponsored health care plan which you have selected).

- Egyptian Health Department
- Fox Lake, Village of
- Homewood, Village of
- Jackson County Ambulance
- Morgan County Sheriff's Dept.
- Pana, City of
- Randolph County Care Center
- Randolph County Circuit Clerk
- Randolph County Deputies
- Round Lake Beach, Village of
- Sangamon County, Chief Judge of the 7th Judicial Circuit Court
- State of Illinois- members must be covered under the master agreement between AFSCME Council 31 and the state. For those with QCHP, PSP can authorize an enhanced rate of reimbursement for outpatient care.
Description of services
The PSP offers free services statewide through a network of professional counselors who are licensed and specially trained to provide confidential assistance on a wide variety of personal difficulties or problems, including:

- Emotional Problems
- Marital Problems
- Alcohol Abuse
- Depression
- Relationship Problems
- Anxiety
- Job Problems
- Drug Abuse
- Psychological Difficulties
- Family Conflicts
- Elder Care Concerns
- Gambling
- Death of a Loved One
- Financial Concerns
- Legal Difficulties
- Child Care Issues
In many instances, after an in-person assessment where you and the counselor talk about your concerns, short-term counseling with PSP is all that's needed. If the PSP counselor determines you would benefit from additional assistance, you will be offered a referral to professional, cost-effective resources. In most cases, you may use your health care benefit. All of PSP's services are voluntary.

Costs
Services provided directly by the PSP are free. If referrals for additional or more specialized care are recommended, PSP will work with you to identify geographically accessible, affordable resources. Your employer-provided health care plan might assist with costs for many referrals.
Confidentiality and Notice of Privacy Practices
The PSP is committed to ensuring that all services are provided in a confidential, professional manner. No information about you will be disclosed outside the PSP except with your written consent or as required by law.

Professional staff
PSP's professional staff possess master's degrees (or higher) and are licensed in the state of Illinois. The majority of our counselors are Certified Employee Assistance Professionals (CEAP) and Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselors (CADC).
PSP's counselors are committed to ongoing professional training and development to ensure that you receive excellent quality services.
