What's next in our fight to raise DSP wages

DSP Lobby Day is the Difference-Maker
Our Day of Action was powerful—but what’s going to get our wage increase legislation over the finish line is having face-to-face conversations with lawmakers in Springfield. That’s why our DSP Lobby Day is so important to winning our wage increase.
RSVP for Lobby Day Here
DSP Lobby Day is Wednesday, April 22! We'll meet at the AFL-CIO building, 534 S. 2nd St., Springfield, IL 62701 at 10 a.m.
Then we’ll have a brief lobbying training in the morning before heading over to the Capitol to have face-to-face conversations with our lawmakers.
Lobby Day is a great time, and it’s a big part of the reason we’ve won wage increases in past years—so join us!
Register here and talk to your local leaders or Council 31 Staff Representative if you’re interested in attending Lobby Day.
Our DSP Day of Action made a difference
From one end of the state to the other, DSPs stood together last week for our DSP Day of Action to show why we deserve fair wages.
We put our dedication to our individuals on display, we shared the sacrifices we make to do this work and we called our lawmakers to make sure they hear us when we say our work is worthy of respect.
But above all, we shared why our hard work deserves a decent wage.
And we made a big splash. Check out this amazing TV news coverage of AFSCME Local 2515’s Day of Action in Rockford!
If you haven't already done so, call your lawmakers!
Call your State Senator at 877-890-2056. Tell them you're a DSP who lives in their district and and urge them to support Senate Bill 2894 to fund a fair wage increase for DSPs.
Then you'll receive a text message with the number (888-453-3211) to call your State Representative next. Tell them you're a DSP who lives in your district and urge them support House Bill 4449 to fund a fair wage increase for DSPs.
