The fight isn't over. The We Are One coalition is planning to reintroduce the bill in the spring legislative session. Every union in the coalition will continue to build support for the bill, and to identify and advance the needed revenue measures to accompany pension improvements.

The 60 employees of the Urbana Free Library (UFL) voted unanimously to form their union, which was certified by the Illinois Labor Relations Board on Nov. 6.

The UFL has been Urbana-Champaign’s public library since 1874.
