Union rights are on the ballot in Wisconsin. Elon Musk is pumping millions into defeating them

Our neighbors in Wisconsin have a crucial election for a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat on April 1, and billionaire Elon Musk is pumping millions into the race to defeat Susan Crawford precisely because she has a record of standing up for workers’ rights to form a union.
Crawford is an accomplished prosecutor and judge. Throughout her career, she’s been a consistent advocate for workers’ rights.
In 2011, the Wisconsin legislature passed Act 10, a union-busting law that stripped nearly all public employees of their collective bargaining rights and resulted in lower wages, worse benefits and fewer on-the-job protections.
Ever since, AFSCME and other public employee unions have been fighting to get Act 10 overturned. In 2024, a judge struck the law down, and now, the state Supreme Court is set to take it up again.
Crawford’s opponent and Musk’s chosen candidate, Brad Schimel, has repeatedly said that if elected, he would vote to uphold Act 10 and ensure that public employee unions remain all but outlawed.
Whoever wins the Supreme Court election on April 1 will be the deciding vote on whether public employees can have their unions back—and Elon Musk is frightened that unions may see a resurgence in the state.
Musk has been using his vast fortune to pay off voters, offering them $100 each for attending pro-Schimel rallies.
Now Donald Trump has weighed in for Schimel and this state Supreme Court contest has become a national bellwether.
This race is very tight, and the fate of Wisconsin’s unions depends on its outcome. It’s not too late to help our neighbors in Wisconsin fight back against the billionaire takeover of our country. Your contribution can still make a difference in these final days if you act right now.
